Careful what you wish for—When June Carter (Reese Witherspoon) told Johnny Cash (Joaquin Phoenix) that he could only speak to her when they were onstage, she never imagined a public proposal. “I have asked you 40 different ways, and it’s time you came up with a fresh answer…You’re my best friend. Marry me,” Johnny says to June. He faces the audience and tells them that he won’t finish the song until she says yes. He finishes the song.
